The new DA layout makes it painfully obvious that I have never posted a journal entry. As a collector of art it seems odd to have a journal but here we go.

For the last ten or so years I have been writing fiction on the internet. I can't link to it from here because my stories are of a mature nature. After years of writing though, I realized that I could have some of my fictional creations illustrated. Maybe it's an ego thing but it is a blast to have a talented artist spend time on a character I have made. After investing years of thought into a character, it is really nice to see that design visually instead of textually.

I am also a lifelong gamer. City of Heroes was my game of choice for years and I created about a dozen characters that I really loved. After I stopped playing CoH, I found I really missed my characters even though I was tired of the game. My original intention was to have every character of mine illustrated at some point, but some characters just can't be 'finished' when you have one illustration of them.

The thing that keeps me commissioning multiple takes of the same character is that I really enjoy the interpretation of each artist. Seeing the same character changed by the individual prism of an artist's style fascinates me. It also makes me look at my characters in a different light, which just inspires me creatively to make more characters in my stories.

So that's why I'm here. All of my deviations are purchases I've made from artists. Enjoy my gallery and be sure to compliment the original artists responsible for all of my commissions.
